How We Accept Payment

We believe quality home care should be accessible — even without Medicaid. Here's every way you can fund care with Just Us Home Care.

ℹ️

We do not currently accept Medicaid. Due to Ohio's Medicaid enrollment moratorium, we are not enrolled as a Medicaid provider at this time. We understand this may be a concern for some families — and we want to be transparent about it. The good news: there are several other programs and funding sources that can cover the cost of care, many of which families are unaware of. Keep reading to learn more.

Ways to Pay for Care

You have more options than you think. From private pay to veteran benefits to long-term care insurance, here's how families fund care with us.

🎖️

VA Aid & Attendance

Veterans and surviving spouses who receive VA pension may qualify for the Aid & Attendance benefit — a monthly cash allowance that can be used to pay any licensed home care agency. If your family member served, this benefit may be available to them.

VA Community Care

Veterans authorized for community-based care through their VA provider can receive services from approved agencies like ours. The VA pays directly — no out-of-pocket cost to the veteran. We are currently completing our VA Community Care enrollment.

🏛️

ODA Title III / Area Agency on Aging

Adults 60+ in Cuyahoga County may qualify for funded home care through the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA) using Older Americans Act (Title III) funds — completely separate from Medicaid. Call WRAAA at 216-621-8010 to check eligibility.

Cuyahoga County / SSBG

Cuyahoga County contracts with home care providers to serve low-income individuals through Social Services Block Grant (SSBG) funding. This is available to people who do not qualify for Medicaid or are still in the enrollment process. Contact DJFS for eligibility.

Veterans: Benefits You May Not Know About

Many veteran families leave significant benefits on the table because they're unaware of them. Here's what's available for home care.

🎖️

VA Aid & Attendance — What It Is and How to Use It

The Aid & Attendance benefit is an enhanced VA pension for veterans or surviving spouses who need help with daily activities — bathing, dressing, medication, meals, and more. Eligible individuals can receive up to $2,200+/month to pay for in-home care.

Unlike VA Community Care, this benefit does not require your agency to be VA-credentialed. You receive the benefit and use it to pay any licensed home care agency — including us. If your family member served in the military and is having trouble with daily activities, they may qualify.

To apply, contact a VA-accredited claims agent or your local Veterans Service Organization (VSO) — American Legion, VFW, or DAV posts in Cleveland can help at no cost.

Payment FAQs

Answers to the questions families ask us most.

Ohio's Medicaid enrollment is currently under a moratorium, which means new home health agencies cannot enroll as Medicaid providers at this time. We are actively monitoring this and plan to enroll as soon as the moratorium is lifted. In the meantime, we are focused on serving clients through private pay, VA benefits, ODA Title III, long-term care insurance, and other programs.
We understand — and we're sorry we can't bill Medicaid right now. If your loved one is on Medicaid and needs home care, we recommend reaching out to your caseworker or the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA) at 216-621-8010 to identify a Medicaid-enrolled agency. We will update our website as soon as we are enrolled and able to accept Medicaid clients.
Our rates are competitive with the Cleveland market for licensed non-skilled home care. We provide a full rate schedule during your free consultation, and we're happy to talk through what care looks like financially for your family. Contact us to schedule a no-pressure conversation.
Most long-term care insurance policies cover non-skilled home care services from a licensed agency. Once a benefit trigger is met (typically needing help with 2+ activities of daily living), the client or family files a claim with their insurer. We provide itemized invoices and care documentation to support the claim. No special credentialing with the insurance company is required on our end — just your policy and our license.
Yes. The VA Aid & Attendance pension benefit is not tied to a VA facility — it's a monthly payment that veterans and surviving spouses can use to pay any licensed home care provider in their home. As long as the veteran is enrolled in VA healthcare and meets the eligibility criteria, geography is not a barrier.
We plan to apply for Medicaid enrollment as soon as Ohio's moratorium is lifted. Once the moratorium ends, the enrollment and approval process takes approximately 90–120 days. We will update this page and notify families on our waitlist as soon as we have a confirmed timeline. If you'd like to be added to our Medicaid waitlist, please contact us.
